Source, scope, and significance assessment

Assessment date: September 9, 2026. This is an internal assessment, not independent peer review.

The frontier addressed

Takahashi, Question 6.12 asks whether a dominant local ring can fail to be uniformly dominant. The manuscript does not answer that global question. It establishes the proposed sharp uniform bound for the full commutative graded Gorenstein class with Hilbert function (1,e,1), e>=3, and transfers finiteness to arbitrary short Gorenstein local rings.

Kobayashi–Takahashi, arXiv:2603.10810v1, Question 7.1, asks about qualitative dominance of short Gorenstein rings. Kimura, arXiv:2609.05781v1, Theorem 7.3, already proves that dominance when the ring contains a field. Kimura's result must not be relabeled as a new theorem of this paper. The current arXiv pages were checked and list only the cited versions.

The new claim is quantitative and strictly stronger: dominant index exactly one, uniformly across all nonzero stable modules, with no restriction on module dimension or field cardinality. The main proof is different from taking a smallest object in an unknown thick closure. It constructs a single exact sequence between known level-one objects.

Essential known input

Ringel, The eigenvector variety of a matrix pencil, Section 5, Theorem 2, supplies eventual generation by eigenvectors after kernel reflection. The reflection definition and the theorem on pages 8–9 were read directly. The appendix is over an arbitrary field; the algebraic-closure hypothesis in Theorem 1 concerns a different result.

This is a reformulation of Ringel, Kronecker modules generated by modules of length 2, Main Theorem 1.3(b). Its main statement and proof completion in Section 4.20 were read. Publication metadata were checked through the Crossref record for DOI 10.1090/conm/705/14194: Contemporary Mathematics, Representations of Algebras, 2018, pages 189–214. The theorem and its bristle-generation mechanism are credited, not claimed as original.

P36 supplies the common-deformation construction. Its short Gorenstein case is reproduced in Proposition 5.1. The main graded theorem is independent of P36; the mixed-characteristic corollary is a further application of that earlier construction and Takahashi's Theorem 6.2.

Priority search and limits

Targeted searches combined uniform dominance, dominant index, short Gorenstein rings, radical cube zero, bristles, and Ringel. No directly matching uniform theorem was located. This is negative search evidence, not certification that no such result exists. The source record for Kimura was refreshed after deriving the candidate. The manuscript avoids an absolute historical-first claim.

The original investigation produced dimension-dependent polynomial and logarithmic bounds. Those are superseded by the one-cone argument and are not published or counted separately. This manuscript also does not count the transfer corollary or generation-time bound as separate papers.

Why the result may matter

A sharp uniform bound for an infinite family of non-complete-intersection Gorenstein rings would strengthen the recent dominance classification and give a uniform bound on all generation times in their singularity categories. The route through small intermediate representations may be useful for other algebras. These are reasons for prospective mathematical significance, not predictions of citations or external acceptance.
